Slam Jam x New Balance

Photo and artworks by Katie Burnett

Slam Jam once again unites with New Balance for a limited-collaboration run on the cult-classic 991sneaker, alongside a stealth-bomber black waterproof anorak and track pants apparel combination.

This rendition of the 991 reflects a signature Slam Jam color scheme across a ripstop nylon upper which features tough pigskin leather and reflective piping around the iconic New Balance logo. The base consists of rough rubber detail on the heel and tips alongside a Bi-color sole. The waterproof anorak and track pant set feature a relaxed fit, both brand logos and reflective detailing at bio-motion points–designed with movability in mind.

The full campaign has been shot and directed by New-York based photographer Katie Burnett. Her monochrome stills play on movement, architecture and everyday elements in an urban environment– fitting in perfectly with Slam Jam's core ideology and the (Un)corporate Uniforms project–an ongoing global expression based around the study of the ultimate uniform.

The apparel will be launched at Slam Jam doors and globally online via slamjam.com from May 7th (shoes released via raffle), alongside the iconic New Balance store in Shap (Cumbria, UK) near the brand’s Made in UK factory located in Flimby. The drop will hit selected retailers worldwide as of May 13th.
